Factbird digital solution

Overview

Factbird produces IoT devices like the Factbird DUO that connect to various sensors in manufacturing facilities and send data to the cloud.

With a growing client base, the Sales Rep-led onboarding process is becoming unsustainable and time-consuming due to troubleshooting and recurrent questions.

We propose a digital platform to streamline onboarding and support, allowing the Sales Team to focus on growth and revenue.

The Mission: How can we create this platform to help Factbird efficiently support customers and onboard new ones?

Process

Data collection

In order to collect qualitative data, we chose to conduct a series of semi-structured interviews.

— Through these we would be able to ask them to elaborate on a topic so as to make sure that we collect the most relevant data about any given topic.

Translation

Next, we created a Figjam file with three boards, one for each interviewee, and used sticky notes to capture individual answers, statements, and replies.

— Following our Double Diamond approach, we converged this information into workable insights, formulating them into clear sentences.

Ideation

To kick things off the floor during the ideation phase, we have decided to look into the Design Sprint method for solution development.

— This is a method that allows you to systematically develop a relevant prototype in 5 days.

Prototype Development and Website creation


Following the Design Sprint method, we successfully developed a prototype by creating a design system, which included various components and UI elements. This structured approach ensured consistency and usability across the entire design.

After finalizing the prototype, we moved on to develop the website. However, the current status of the project remains uncertain. It is unclear whether the company will continue with further development. Additionally, the domain where we initially hosted the website is no longer online.

Outcome

We believe to have answered it to a high degree of satisfaction. During our research we found the main points of struggle for Factbird and we have produced the following:

— A web solution that follows Factbird’s brand guidelines which includes all the relevant forms of information and a showcase of how each could be displayed following a data driven approach to ensure that it holds up to professional standards.
